Delegations of China Office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Visiting IDP for Cooperation in Disaster Prevention and Alleviation

Recently, Sagu Liangjiu, deputy director of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) China office, Deputy Director Zhou Yan, Professor Gu Linsheng of Sichuan Provincial Party School, Dr. Zhang Ying of Beijing Seismological Bureau and other experts came to IDP to exchange cooperation on disaster prevention and mitigation. Professor Yao Yunsheng, president, and Professor Hong Li, director of the Academic Affairs Office, attended the forum. The forum was presided over by Professor Tang Yandong, president of the emergency management college. All teachers of the Emergency Management College attended the forum.

Yao Yunsheng pointed out that JICA has done a lot of work in the field of international disaster prevention and reduction. Disaster prevention science has no national boundaries, and both sides have the basis and conditions for cooperation. They can cooperate in disaster prevention and mitigation exchanges, study visits, scientific research and discipline construction, so as to jointly improve the ability of natural disaster prevention and control.

After learning the professional system and discipline construction of disaster prevention and mitigation, and the training of emergency management professionals in IDP, Mr. Sagu Liangjiu systematically introduced JICA's work in international technical training, financial support, emergency assistance, etc., and focused on the work of disaster prevention and mitigation in China. He said that JICA was willing to provide support to IDP for the exchange and study, scientific research and discipline construction .

At the meeting, the teachers participating in the forum conducted in-depth and effective discussions on the training of disaster prevention and mitigation talents, academic exchange and visiting plan, and disaster education quality standards.
