On May 8, 2018, researcher Huang Zhibin, director of Science and Technology Division of China Seismological Network Center, visited IDP and made an academic report. Students and some teachers from the Department of Earthquake Science participated in the report.

Before the report, Prof. Shen Jun, director of the Department of Earthquake Science, read out the letter of appointment, and invited researcher Huang Zhibin as the visiting professor of the Department of Earthquake Science of IDP.

Huang Zhibin made a report entitled "Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Entering the Campus". The report analyzed the causes and current characteristics of earthquake disasters in simple language, introduced the latest achievements of the development of China Earthquake Network, emphasized the social service function of disaster prevention and mitigation, and put forward suggestions for the career planning of our students.

After the report, Huang Zhibin had a good interaction with the students.
