Professor Huang Jun from Graduate?School?of?Chinese?Academy?of?Sciences Giving Academic Report at IDP

On the morning of May 24, 2018, Professor Huang Jun of Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to give an academic report on "Thinking of Emergency Management Thoughts and Methods". This report is one of the "Series Reports Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake" organized by the Department of Economic Management. Teachers and students of public utilities management major listened to the report.

Prof. Huang Jun systematically elaborated the system content and scientific thinking methods in Unconventional Emergency Management, mainly involving the definition of integrated emergency management system, objectives and system resilience, and detailed the scientific ideas and methods for improving system resilience. Prof. Huang pointed out that under the current "Two Insistence, Three Changes" comprehensive disaster prevention and mitigation decision-making deployment, based on the whole process of emergency management, the resilience of the disaster bearing body and the disaster resistant body can effectively reduce the possibility of disasters, improve the maneuverability of the emergency process and the recovery of the post disaster system. In addition, combining with the system analysis of unconventional emergencies, Prof. Huang emphasized the importance of the preparation and drilling of the plan, as well as the capacity building of disaster prevention and preparedness, and elaborated the technical points of the plan preparation based on scenario analysis.

After the report, Prof. Huang discussed with the teachers and students. This report is an important measure to implement the collaborative education plan of public service management specialty, and has constructive guiding significance for the cultivation of application-oriented professionals.
