Recently, led by Han Zhiming and Hu Zhiguo, teachers from teaching and research section of the School of Electronics and Control Engineering, 24 students from the 2016 earthquake instrument collaborative experimental class, went to Seismological Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to carry out a week-long professional practice of seismic system.

Dai Bosheng, director of Seismological Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Gong Jianping, deputy director of the bureau, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Teachers and students visited Hohhot benchmark station, popular science education base for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and observation caves. Through special lectures, the students have a deeper understanding of the monitoring and forecasting work, scientific research work and consultation work of the network stations. In the process of practice, the students personally participated in the instrument maintenance work, combined theory with practice, and developed the enthusiasm of learning. At the graduation ceremony, the students reported the internship results to the leaders and experts of Seismological Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Students participating in the internship said that the internship has deepened their understanding of disaster prevention and mitigation work.
