From November 2 to 4, 2018, the 10th National Conference on Soil Dynamics was held in Nanjing University of Technology. The conference was sponsored by the Soil Dynamics Committee of Chinese society of vibration engineering, the Geotechnical Engineering Committee of China Seismological Society, and Heilongjiang Huixian Earthquake Engineering Foundation (China). It is themed on "’One Belt, One Road’ and Resilience of Urban and Rural Areas, and the Challenges and Opportunities of Soil Dynamics”. More than 800 people from over 100 units around the country participated in this event. More than 10 teachers and students, including Prof. Bo Jingshan, director of Huang Danian Type Civil Engineering Teacher Team, leader of geological engineering discipline of School of Geological Engineering, attended the conference.

During the conference, Prof. Bo Jingshan, Prof. Cai Xiaoguang, and Associate Professor Li Ping gave academic reports on "Discussion on Calibration of Response Spectrum", "Research on Horizontal Displacement Control of Modular Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall under Horizontal Earthquake Action", "Research on Evaluation of Two-Dimensional Numerical Simulation of Gravel Pile Treatment Level and Effect of Slightly Inclined Liquefaction Site Based on Centrifuge Test" and shared relevant information. At the same time, they also had in-depth talks and exchanged ideas with the participants.

After the meeting, in order to strengthen the construction of the urban underground space engineering specialty, Li Ping, assistant dean of the School of Geological Engineering, Li Xiaobo and Zhang Yudong went to Nanjing University of Technology and Jinling University of Science and Technology to investigate the professional construction, laboratory management, practice base construction, student employment and other related matters.
