IDP Successfully Holding Seminar on Regional and Urban Earthquake Disaster Risk Assessment and Monitoring Technology

On March 3, 2019, the national major R & D Program "Seminar on Regional and Urban Earthquake Disaster Risk Assessment and Monitoring Technology" was rounded off successfully. More than 50 experts, scholars and graduate students from the Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Seismological Bureau, Institute of Geophysics, China Academy of Building Sciences, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Technology, Xiamen University, CCCC Highway Research Institute and other famous universities and research institutions were invited to the meeting. Some teachers and postgraduates from School of Civil Engineering of IDP attended the seminar.

Zhang Lingxin, the project leader of major R & D projects, presided over the opening ceremony of the meeting and introduced the basic situation of the project. Six project leaders respectively introduced the main research contents, achievements, existing difficulties and future research plans of the related subjects. The project evaluation expert group highly appraised the phased achievements of the project, affirmed the serious and rigorous scientific research attitude of the project members, and gave suggestions on the research focus and research ideas of the six subjects.

Prof. Guo Xun, dean of College of Civil Engineering, and Prof. Bo Jingshan from School of Geological Engineering, attended the meeting as evaluation experts. After the meeting, Prof. Guo Xun congratulated on the successful opening of the conference, expressed his gratitude to the experts who have cared and supported the development of the College of Civil Engineering for many years. He hoped to further strengthen the academic exchanges and cooperation between IDP and other universities and scientific research institutes based on the development of major R & D projects.
